Leftist Matt Damon still just a white guy
It’s not charitable to revel in another’s misery or take pleasure from a man’s misfortune or even bad press, but I make an exception when that someone is ultra-leftist hypocrite Matt Damon.
Damon spends his time on screen as tough guy Jason Bourne, whom I admittedly love. Quite the conundrum, I realize, but the Bourne movies are great.
Damon as Bourne travels the world using firearms to kill everything in sight, and those he doesn’t shoot he beats to a pulp. Ironic isn’t it, considering actor Matt Damon doesn’t think anyone should own a gun and that private gun owners are a menace and a bad influence. As a leftist, he fails to see the irony of his gun-wielding characters having a much bigger influence on people than you and I could ever hope to have.
He is a global-warming nut, even involved in the climate-change faux-documentary “Years of Living Dangerously.” He cares about our planet – yet we see countless fiery explosions in his movies, spewing greenhouse gas into the air. Still, he doesn’t see the irony.
Damon is also all about diversity in Hollywood, or so he claims. So when a statist like Damon gets ripped in the press, as is currently happening, I can’t help but feel a warped sense of satisfaction.
Matt Damon’s latest big-budget blockbuster, set for release February 2017, is called “The Great Wall.” No, it’s not a mocumentary of the wall Donald Trump has promised to build. It is actually about the Great Wall of China.
The movie is set in China over 1,000 years ago when there were few if any – as they were called – “round eyes” seen in China. If one were seen, he certainly wouldn’t have had an American accent.
But this didn’t stop Mr. Leftist, Mr. Hollywood Diversity, from signing on to be the hero who saves China. And this has leftists of, shall we say, Asian persuasion rather bent out of shape – that Damon, the sensitive liberal, would take the part of a leading man in a film about ancient mystical China.
